Five years on from the first cases of Covid, so many of us are still living with Long Covid.
As a group of patients we came together to create Long Covid SOS, a charity run entirely by people with lived experience of this illness. Long Covid has affected every aspect of our lives, and hundreds of thousands more, yet people with Long Covid are still being ignored.
This week, we have written an open letter to Health Secretary Wes Streeting, calling for urgent action and launching our public appeal to raise £100K for our first paid Campaign Manager. We need support to keep fighting for better research, treatments and awareness.
We are also campaigning for our Bill of Rights to be guaranteed for everyone living with Long Covid, including the right to be believed, to receive a diagnosis, to proper support, and to funded research.
Long Covid has stolen our health, our work, and time with our families, but it has not taken our voices. We will keep using them for everyone still living with this illness every day.
